We extensively tested numerous red-dot sights from several different manufacturers, and found IJK Optics to be robust and accurate for a reasonable cost. With three models to choose from, you can match an Red Dot Sight to your particular firearm and shooting style.

Using a red-dot sight on a Mini-Scout-Mount™ gives the shooter a number of advantages:

The forward mounted position of the red-dot sight allows much better peripheral vision, resulting in faster target identification and safer shooting.
With both eyes open, the shooter can get the red-dot on the target faster and track moving targets more effectively.
Forward mounting of the red-dot sight improves the balance and carrying characteristics of the firearm.

SCOUT MODEL M4

This reliable and proven design has been successfully deployed with our troops for several years, and is now available in a low-profile configuration for the Mini-Scout-Mount™. It features covered windage and elevation knobs that are coin adjustable. The rugged built-in mounting base fits Picatinny rails and is secured with a tactical quick-detachable thumbnut. Includes an extra mount base riser that will position the M4 at the correct height for use with AR-15 style rifles. This unit is powered by a single CR123 battery. The sharp 6-MOA green & red dot has five intensity level settings, and the unit comes with flip-up scope caps. Weight is 12.75 oz. Length is 5.16”.

RD2 1X30 Compact with optional Cantilevered High Mount Ring

This sight is mounted in a single heavy-duty 30mm ring (included) that will attach to any Picatinny or Weaver style rail. It features a sharp and clear, single red dot reticle with eleven intensity level settings. A removable 2X lens is included for when additional magnification is desired. The windage and elevation knobs are coin adjustable and covered with retained caps. Power is supplied by one CR-2032 battery, and the unit is 4.65" long and weighs 8.5 oz. Comes with flip-up scope caps.

The optional Cantilevered High Mount Ring will position the M4 at the correct height for use with AR-15 style rifles.

SCOUT MODEL M432

This is a rugged 1X-30mm sight that can be mounted on any Picatinny or Weaver style rail with the two heavy-duty 30mm rings included. It features FOUR different reticle patterns, including a 2-MOA dot for more precise shooting at longer ranges. Powered by one CR-2032 battery, the unit is 5.16" long and weighs 6.75 oz. Comes with scope caps and a removable sunshade.

Q: Why did AmegaMounts choose IJK as a recommended Red Dot sight?

A: At the request of AmegaMounts customers, we looked for a reasonable cost Red-Dot sight. We ordered a selection of Red-Dot Sights from all the manufacturers of sights in this price range. Then we put them on our mounts and went to the range. Some of the sights we tested didn't make it through the first few rounds. One of our board members has used these sights for years and has had no problems. We believe these sights are the best value for the money.

Q: What type of battery does the IJK Red Dots use, and what is the life expectancy?

A: Refer to model detail for exact battery type. Battery life will vary greatly depending on user habits. If you turn it on and off each time you use it, the battery should last all season. We found replacement batteries in stock at our local drug store.

Q: Will the Ultradot mount on my rifle?

A: The mounting rings that are supplied with your sight will attach directly to your Mini-Scout-Mount . You can however, use any style rings you choose as long as the diameter matches the sights. (Either 25 or 30mm).

Q: What is the minimum distance required between the rings (inside to inside) for the sightt to fit?
