IMPORTANT!
The Mini-Scout-Mount ™Garand is specifically designed for a drop-in fit on US Military Specification, Standard Weight barrels. The Critereon barrels (often found on CMP Garands) are standard GI specs and our mount fits them fine. It will NOT fit a heavy barrel (usually a match after-market barrel). Our mount can be modified by a competent machinist to fit the heavy contour Match Garand barrels. See the INSTALL tab for more information.
Our mounts will fit and function properly on many of the “TANKER” versions, but often require some fitting.
BM-59 and BM-63 rifles are Italian copies of the GARAND and most will accept our mount. However, on some units the mount body will require some fitting. See the INSTALL tab for more information

The Mini-Scout-Mount ™Garand is specifically designed for a drop-in fit on US Military Specification, Standard Weight barrels. It will NOT fit a heavy barrel (usually a match after-market barrel). However it can be modified by a competent machinist to fit (this does NOT include barrels made by Krieger). Give us a call if you want to do this.
Our mounts will fit and function properly on many of the “TANKER” versions, but often require some fitting. Note that every “TANKER” is essentially a custom built rifle. On some the operating rod will drag on our barrel clamp, binding it and interfering with the function of the rifle. This can usually be remedied by filing off a little of the barrel clamp material just where the operating rod drags. On a very few “TANKERS”, the drag of the operating rod against the clamp is so severe that it cannot be modified enough to make it work. REMEMBER, before you start filing that if you modify the clamp or any part of the mount, you will void the warranty.
BM-59 and BM-63 rifles are Italian copies of the GARAND and most will accept our mount. However, on some units the mount body is too long to fit between the handguard retainer ring and the receiver. This can usually be fixed by grinding or filing off a small amount of material from the back of the mount body. REMEMBER, before you start filing that if you modify the clamp or any part of the mount, you will void the warranty.
Any of our accessories will fit any of our mounts and can be positioned for right or left-handed shooters. The Tactical Light Mount Kit ™ it is your BEST solution for attaching a flashlight or laser sight to your rifle or shotgun. The LONG model allows more flexibility of mounting positionsandis better suited to larger accessories. You can add sling attachment points with the Detachable Sling Mount Kit or Tactical Sling Mount Adapter.
A: About 4-5 minutes, once you have removed the hand guard.
A: NO. None of the mounting screws actually touch your rifle.
A: MAYBE. You may see a small improvement in average group size with some types of ammunition.

A: We only recommend a pistol scope. They are more compact and have longer eye relief, which allows better peripheral vision. If you use a Scout scope, the shorter eye relief places the rear lens too close to the ejection port. After you fire a couple of rounds off, the oil and powder residue coming out of the port usually fouls your scope lens so badly that you cannot see through it.
A: Removing the gas system on the Garand for cleaning has no effect on the Mini-Scout-Mount. Just do not remove the band pin from the lower barrel band as the Mini-Scout-Mount bears against this.
A: It is a mechanical fact that the mount is centered over the barrel and cannot be installed any other way.
With the shape of the Garand receiver being what it is, it may appear to be slightly off to the left. With a scope (or red dot sight) in place, you should have no trouble getting your zero because the mount body is aligned true to the bore of the rifle and not dependent on the receiver.A: The barrel bracket on the M1-D will preclude intalling our mount to your barrel. If you can remove the bracket, our mount should work fine.
A: Use the lowest rings that will allow mounting the scope. The brand doesn't really matter (Weaver is usually the cheapest, while Warne Quick-Detachable rings are very nice but pricey). The lower rings will help you keep your cheek on the stock for a better shooting position.
